Getting to and around Chirala
Chirala Railway Station (code CLX) sits on the historic Vijayawada–Chennai section of the Howrah–Chennai main line, with 6 platforms, under the Vijayawada railway division. That division has long belonged to South Central Railway, though it is in the process of transferring to the newly formed South Coast Railway zone headquartered at Visakhapatnam — check current signage or your ticket for the zone shown at the time of travel.
National Highway 216 runs through Chirala, connecting onward to NH 16 (the Kolkata–Chennai corridor) at Ongole. State Highway 48 links Chirala to Bapatla and Guntur, and APSRTC operates regular bus services to and from the town.
